Sounds like a great way to promote fishing in our part of the State and I agree– What a great way to share the ‘HOW TO” to all the different ways of fishing techniques that are discussed on FTR.

Thanks for the great report. Its really nice to know that there are DNR people, such as yourself and the others that helped you in this case, that really care about the fishery AND that cares about the fisherman and their feelings and concerns about protecting our fishery. You have taken alot of your time to inform us about everything and that is much appreciated. Thanks, Bill and Nate

Hello, The meeting place for Walleye Searchers and where EFNs Dave “Hawger” Hoggard will be speaking is at the Elks Club in SE Rochester. For example, coming from Owatonna you would come in on Hwy 14 and take the turn off to the right at Hwy 52 in Rochester. Go south until Hwy 14 turn off [by Apache Mall Shopping Center] and take that turn off which will wrap around and take you East on Hwy 14. Stay on Hwy 14 a couple miles until you come to 15th Ave. SEwhere there is a Shopping Center on the left side and a Burger King. Turn left [north] at the intersection and a short ways past the Shopping Center on the left side is a building with a parking lot that is the Elks Club. If you would be coming into Rochester from the north from Lake City for an example, you stay on Hwy 63 which changes into Broadway [main street] until you come to Hwy 14 and turn left on 14 and go a couple miles til you reach 15th Ave SE and turn left and go to Elks Club on the left. If anyone needs more directions please feel free to e-mail Bill or Nate at [email protected] or call us at 507-287-0649. PS There is an address for the Elks Club with small map on the website for Walleye Searchers at http://www.walleyesearchers.com Hope this helps. Bill and Nate

I started taking my youngest son Nate out fishing when he was 2 years old. Actually we both started fishing when he was 2 years old. Its a great way to spend time with a son or daughter. Its memories that will last a life time and a great experience to share . Now Nate is on the water more than I am. Just goes to show that it is a love for the water and fishing that you both can share together for a life time. Bill

Even if he bought it back he now would have 2 payments per month for the same boat.

Ok I guess I will be the odd ball out of the bunch but I would say if you want something that will never fail your needs go with the OKUMA Magda Pro it is one of the best line counters out there and has excellent gear Ratio and as far as rods go I would go with a 8-10ft glass st.croix.

I like to use a short 6ft diawa or st.croix medium action for verticle jigging and for casting I use a 7ft st. croix medium light with a fast light tip all jigging rods are set up with Quantum Energy reels with BRIGHT PINK 6lb Maxima line you can’t beat that combo. that nice pink line likes to attract big females. or we hope so anyways but it is a very nice line if you are a line watcher.

Hey Kirt if you fish pool 4 I would stock up on 1/8 to 5/16 oz Bucktails. and as far as color goes go with black/black, green/black purple/black and of coarse your lime greens and chartruese.

just thought I would voice my preferences be interesting to see what everyone else has to say.

    Hey Quicksilver

was just wondering what they all did for there 20 hr check up there is no way that should cost $116 I know for my two stroke motor its only like $10 and thats just for the grease everything else was free to me it sounds like they just like to screw around with people. to me they sound like they just like to run around instead of running a business. hope you have better luck next time you buy a new rig.

Sounds like a great way to get kids interested in fishing. The pictures sure show how happy that boy was. Just the smiles on his face makes it all worthwhile. Bill and Nate

A few years ago on the Opener a friend and I went to Tetonka Lake and fished between rain stoms. While we were sitting out a bad hour downpour in my car, we watched people back their trailers half way down the ramp and stop. Then they would crank the boat up the ramp on the pavement and onto their trailers. Talk about stupid. Great way to ruin the hull on your boat. Serveral different people did this. We also saw a guy do this in Lake City once. He was worried about getting water in his bearings so he wouldn’t back down into the water. Since when are bearings more expensive than the bottom of your boat? Bill

Hey Guys nothing gets me more than when you are running the back channel and there are guys fishing the cabins or other spots above and they flick you off when you run so close to their boats. everyone knows thats a chance you take fishing those spots theres only one way through there guys otherwise you won’t have a lower unit.

    thanks Nate

No Its not that I have to get to the river first but if his was in front I wouldn’t get down there untill noon you know at his old age he requires more sleep. no but seriously James what do you do about electricity to charge your batteries because they don’t have any. thought about just running a bunch of exstension cords down the street to your place but then I just figured it would be much easier to go into your stall and just switch batteries so that way mine are always charged HA HA. I didn’t ask if they had any electricity available if they do please let me know.

    Thanks alot Nate

Hey Steve, is that you?- The Steve that use to ask us all the questions at the ramp? Congrats. I knew you had an interest in that place by the way you talked last year about Everts. Bill and Nate
