is it out of the question to think about heating the floor ? If I was starting over on a garage that would be my choice.

I have had a Tyee I/O for 10 years. Its a great family boat for whatever type of fishing you do. I am scared of water so I feel secure in it on the big lakes in Canada. I don’t think they take any more maintenance than an outboard and mine does very well on fuel. I had a mount for a kicker on mine for a while and used a 15hp Johnson, but removed it and depend on my IPilot on the MinnKota. it will idle down and troll a little under 3mph if I use the big motor. I replaced the entire lower unit last summer after a little mishap in Canada and that is all I have spent on the old girl since I got it.
January 5, 2014 at 5:56 pm #1377059I buy mine from here http://www.maxtool.com/dwcomp_cordless.htm . Great service and reasonable
January 5, 2014 at 5:52 pm #1377056Love it. Interference is pretty much nonexistent. Like Chad says , the bright colors are great for fishing out in the sun. LIKE
December 18, 2013 at 2:15 pm #1363478I have a 20 , a 22 and just got a 28. I love it. Turn it on drop it down and fish . No more turning the knob to find a depth as it has auto. I like it a lot but Ive been a lifelong Vex guy.
November 7, 2013 at 9:12 pm #1204611It is a tough choice , but the right one. I just buried one of my St Bernards 2 weeks ago and that hurts. Enjoy them . They are family.
August 19, 2013 at 9:43 am #1190284And if you think the retail side is tough , you should “get” to do work for them . That’s a real treat
August 8, 2013 at 8:20 pm #1188623Check out Bad Boy Mowers. They are a heck of a mower made in USA. I got a new one this year and for the $$$ , you get a lot of mower.
July 29, 2013 at 9:05 pm #1186310John was a good friend and a great guy. He was the icefishing king in my book. He could outfish most and didn’t need a “vex” as his was built in. Steve and I learned a lot and had a lot of good times with The Legend. RIP my friend
June 12, 2013 at 8:35 pm #1177461Thanks guys ……… sounds like I better see how things go with the latest rains.
April 2, 2013 at 9:20 am #1158294I have a GMC Crew with an 8.1 and an Allison. It will pull anything you put behind it. It gets 10mpg with a load or without. I have gotten 11.5 empty before , but very seldom. You cant buy that engine in a pickup any more so I am stuck with the old girl for a long time . Just have a quart of oil ready to dump in every 1200 miles . We also have a 2010 Silverado with a 5.3 and a 6 speed auto. The truck has amazing power and pulling ability compared to the older 5.3 . I have gotten over 20 mpg on trips before. ( figured with a pencil and paper , not the digital read out crap on the dash ) …… I have had 454s previously and they too are a 10mpg getter
November 25, 2012 at 11:14 am #1114665I have very hard well water. I had to replace my old rental and decided to buy my own. Kinetico is a good one , but they are pretty spendy. I bought a Ecowater system and have been very happy with it. Its in the basement has a control box upstairs in the kitchen to monitor water usage and salt levels. Thats nice because I dont have to go down and check salt every couple weeks.

Actually cutting an access hole through the box works too….
We have 2 GMs. They both have 12 inch square panel cutouts in the left front corner of the box , Got an old piece of floor from the junkyard and made nice covers over the holes….. you just slide the bed mat back , take out 4 screws and the fuel pump is right there !!! I have updated several for my buddies too.
December 14, 2011 at 8:51 pm #1017757This is how we did it this spring in Canada !!!!!!! I never thought I would eat one either. Gotta say boiled and dipped in garlic butter — they are pretty darn good
November 1, 2011 at 5:22 pm #1005767The only problem out in North Dakota is housing. A buddy’s 22 year old kid is out there working making $1500-$2000 per week but his rent is $1100 per month to sleep in a bunk bed in a trailer house that looks like it should have been scrapped !! There are 8 guys staying in that trailer ……
