It all depends on where you are looking but I keep looking at Fleet Farm have yet to see 270 or rarely see much for rifle rounds. I have been able to pick up some 9mm again which is good to see .

X2 on the Helix 15 for my Mega 360 which is really nice but definitely not necessary. I think you would be fine with a Helix 9 or 10 depending on how much you wanted to spend.

I have been running a Stihl MS271 for about 5 years with an 18″ bar. It has been a solid saw for me and have no complaints. I use it for land maintenance on our 60 acres and for firewood. There has only been a few times so far that I wished I had a longer bar for it.

I owned a 2007 Tacoma, it was a great truck that gave me no issues. Sold it with 175K on it to get a Tundra. It’s hard to beat the reliability of a Toyota.

I bought my daughter the Genesis this year and it has been great for her. She is 9 but it is nice because it is adjustable so I am sure it work well for kids younger as well.

You can’t beat Honda reliability. I have a 2002 Honda Rancher and 2000 Honda Foreman. Never had any issues with either of them. Just do basic maintenance each year and you are good to go.

I am by no means an expert and just got the new boat a few weeks ago and have only had a chance to get out in 2 times. My last boat had a 997 and an 898 and those units were not able to be networked together.

It is my understanding that to get SI to show the unit needs to be capable of SI. With that said I have heard that if networked together that the DI units can share the SI. I will have to check with some of my units and can report back after the weekend.

The mapping chips to not share unit to unit. You would need to have multiple chips for this. I have a chip in the bow and a chip at the console and for the units without use either the 2D, DI, SI or 360.

When doing my own research I found this:
What information shares when I network my Humminbird units together?
When networked together via Ethernet, HELIX and HELIX models will share:
    Waypoints
    Transducer information (sonar and temperature)*
    GPS Signal (not mapping)
    i-Pilot Link information and control
    Bluetooth Talon Control
    360 Imaging
    MEGA 360 Imaging
    Humminbird CHIRP RADAR
    NMEA 2000 network information

So my current setup is at the the Console is a Helix G3 12 Mega SI/DI and 1198 SI. At the bow is a Helix G3 15 Mega DI and Helix G2 10 DI. I also have the Mega 360 at the bow.

This is new boat to me but first impressions is it is nice to have multiple units in both the bow and console. This way you could have the map as 1 and run DI and 2D together or whatever your preference is.

If it were me I would setup Helix 10 SI at the console with the Helix 7. I would put the Helix 9 with the 898 in the bow.

As far as networking them together, you should be able to get the humminbird hub and all of the units you have will network together just fine.

For pheasants I will only go with a dog. I have found that it is important for getting the birds to fly often times if solo they will never get up and just run in front of you or you walk past them. Also, important to have a dog because if they are wounded the chance of finding them is pretty much zero.

    I shoot a 12 gauge with a modified choke. Federal 2 3/4″ Lead #6

For Grouse I will hunt with or without a dog.

I actually would have thought a lot more than I actually do. I just sold my boat this year and when I did the readout I only put on 120 hours on the main motor in 6 years. That said, the main motor is really only used from the boat landing to where I am fishing, which ends up being shorter runs. Most of the hours of run time end up on the trolling motor or kicker if I am trolling.

I’m also looking for a kicker at the moment – I was hoping to find a used T8 or T9 but obviously this has not been a great time for that.

My boat is a tiller but I had just planned to connect it to trollmaster and then lock it in forward. I have seen more people using their trolling motor to do the steering. However with a helm its probably up to your preference on using the wheel vs. adding hours and wear on your trolling motor.

Yes, that is my thoughts as well. Better to have the hours on the cheaper kicker than the big motor. Have not used the new boat but in most cases they can not get down to the slower speeds used for trolling

I agree, although I am used to having the controls at the counsel. I feel the other option might give me more ways in the end to play with to see what works best. Now I just have to talk myself into the change. Haha!
