619VS and 619FS are totally different hulls, the FS series hull handles the bigger waves and rougher water much better than the VS hulls. If your going with a VS series then I would think 620+. I have owned both a 619VS and 619FS.

True statement, in rough water it will lift from time to time.

And continue to supply our Wardens with 3/4 ton diesel trucks, loads of equipment that is not in use 50% of the year, etc, etc.

I brought this up to a local official recently and he seemed to understand the public perception issue. If you are raising prices for the right reasons I don’t think people really have a problem with the rate increase. But when you over indulge with new equipment and equipment that does not protect the resource but rather is a partially an over reaction to public & political opinions (dare I say AIS, etc) then the public is once again non-supportive of your actual needs.

The increase is coming, nothing is likely to stop that. What does need to happen is the state & DNR officials need to a reality to check for their actual needs to maintain the resource.

    Again – just my $.02.

If its anything like my Terrova, Ill review it in three letters: P.O.S.
    Two brain boxes
    Two foot pedals
    Numerous break downs
    Undependable
    Expensive to maintain
Built by a company that wont admit they built a lemon or make things right.
And I have owned Minkota for over 30 years and never had an issue with any of there products

This is the new release product or an old version you are speaking of? My guess is old, I think the question pertains to the new release design.

Could always go back to an anchor!

Before Motor Guide, MinnKota was the only game in town and people loved it for the most part. Then when Motor Guide realized they had an opportunity to capture some market the designed the better system. Now MinnKota has leaped past them with a new product release.

When Motor Guide first came out with spot lock and job they had issues also. I fished with guys where the motor would simply take off in another direction – software or GPS compass issues presumably.

New product releases happen every year. New warranties happen every year. Every buy a motor, only to have the following year at the boat show or dealer find out the manufacture has extended the warranty? Happens all the time.

    Tight lines!

I heard you can use rifles. But I may be wrong I read it in a story online. I sure hope not.

Maybe attending the meeting or reading the presentation would help bring some clarity here.

Yes, I went to the meeting.

Rollers went down last Friday, should stay down now I would think based on the river forecast

Maybe try a Rev 4 21 pitch, should help carry the load a little better and give you a bit better now lift.

I guess that’s my questions. In my ranger the oil fill has its own cap and it seems like its built into the hall. So how would I be able tell how much is in there. I totally could be missing something here. I am an amateur when it comes to these things

Trim the motor down, open the access door on the splash well. You’ll be able to see inside and see the oil res.

If the oil fill is on the motor, you’ll need to remove the cover to see the oil level.
