Nice fish! there are some magnum gills in that lake. It’s a super fun lake to fish with all the flooded timber.

This thread should get real interesting! Lets see here I’ve had my cell phone take the plunge. A few jigs slip through my fingers take a bounce and straight down the hole, even had the pleasure of watching them fall to their resting place on my flasher!
My most recent happened just yesterday, flasher fell off the seat in the hut fell upside down over the hole and the battery came unhooked and fell straight down through the 8in hole

I have a few updates, ive been fishing the dam below anamosa for the last week and a half. in that time ive caught an 8lb northern and 8lb 27inch walleye, the walleye was caught about a week ago and quite frankly you couldnt go wrong down there the eyes were just hitting like mad, the day of the 27 incher we caught 8 within a hour and a half period with the smallest being 19inches believe it or not, i was there and had a hard time believing it, it was a blast. they were caught on chartreuse wally divers. since then the fishing has slowed down quite a bit ive been down every evening this week and caught 2-3 a night no size to them biggest was the one i caught tonight and it was 16inches the others were in the 10-12inch range. jig and twister for those. lets hear some more wapsi updates!!! i’m gonna head up river and see if i can find me a few holes, anyone care to join in?

oh, it is definitely believable i caught one last fall that was 25.5 inches long and one this spring that was 26.5 that was at the 26.5 was caught in anamosa, the 25.5 was caught outside of wyoming. both were released.

wish i would have seen this before we ventured out and had the full size chevy up to the pipes in water haha..however, we did find a couple cat and lots of stripers. The cat were in flooded timber areas. I thought maybe some would venture back there. the stripers were near the dock chasing minnows out to death valley. PS. I love the comedy. Makes it fun to go through the posts

My friend and i hit it for about an hour…we caught two smallies about 10-12inches…you hear lots of rumors about 20 inchers being taken but ive only seen one so far. Above the dam if you are driving straight up you will see a curve that goes to the right and a rock shoreline to the left..can usually catch some smallies right there

below anamosa…you need to fish from shore or wade out. I catch the most right next to the powerplant.. i’ll go out right now and see if they are still hitting like they were. My friend and i caught 32 in an hour last week

ive been wondering the same thing. Did you fish them at all during the summer? if you hit hawthorne at the right time you will be in for some fun, all day action!
