I made the mistake of coming back up here again today. Cold and the bite is awful. Haven’t seen one fish caught today

Somebody is always on them, but it does seem like the bite has been pretty poor this spring.

There’s not much here in red wing, probably 3″ or so. It was an adventure getting here from Iowa though. Not many boats out at all

Tried about everything today and had a slow bite. Not very good numbers and no big fish. Hopefully tomorrow is better

How bad is it going to get Brian? Was hoping to head up to p4 tomorrow, but sounds like we need to rethink that

It’s more about the action and vibrations they give off

Keep complaining and it will still do nothing. With the way social media is. You think p4 was busy this year you wait till next. And I’ll tell you right now there’s a hell of a lot more meat hunters out there than there is trophy hunters. When people travel to p4 from Iowa and Illinois do you think the care about catching hogs. Well sure they do but at the end of the day alls they want to do is bend the rod and take fish home.
Sucks to see but if they buy a license there is nothing we can do.

Hey now I’m from Iowa and didn’t keep a single fish the 4 days I was there. I was hog hunting, I can catch fish to eat here in Iowa. Something over 10 lbs however is nearly impossible to top in Iowa.

There is a lot of dumb stuff out there like that right now. I had two different boats anchor between us and the shore right where I was casting and catching fish. Almost got ran over by another guy that thought he owned the river. Some people have no ethics or just don’t care. That said the majority of folks still get it.

Awesome fish! I lost two big ones on Friday/ Saturday. Those hooks on the blade baits sure suck. cry

Blade baits and rippin raps shallow are what put walleyes in the boat for me. Lost two that I don’t feel too good about

Today was extremely slow for us. Only managed 2 saugers, tried everything and everywhere just couldn’t get anything going. Didn’t see many fish caught by anyone.

Red wing to me has always been one of those places where you have to create your own luck. Seems like if you hear about a good bite its already over by the time you get there

Manawa is on the south side of Council Bluffs, Desoto Bend is north of Omaha 15 miles or so. Both are oxbow lakes of the Missouri.
