    Spent a good day with a buddy on the river and caught a few. The bite is starting to pick up fellas!

    The wind was a pain but it is Iowa… When isn’t the wind a pain!

    Des Moines river is where I got them. Another guy just downstream of me caught a 24 in. Eye when we were on these.

    Nice. I’ve got to start fishing the Des Moines. I drive by the vandalia ramp everyday, but have always been a lake/pond guy.

    I think I’m going to try to head out later today and see what the bite is like. I haven’t decided if I want to hit up the Des Moines again or maybe a lake. Have you fellas been out and caught anything yet?

    I have been to some ponds and had good success last week, but this week not so much. The bigger bass have gone back down deep and are negative. I also fished briefly on Wednesday at a reservoir in northern Missouri and it also was slow. Water temps in the lake were 49-52.
