That would be down to 6 ft rather than 12 ft. I’m trying to get Navionics to lower your choice of a safety depth to 3 ft as I primarily fish in 3-5 ft of saltwater.

I finally messed around and got the program to save to card like it’s supposed to. I went into the program folder and clicked on the WPS folder and it showed no files so I click above on compatibility files and it showed a WPS folder and it had my saved waypoints in it. I right click the file and clicked properties and the dialog box showed the file opened with, Windows Shell Common,DLL, I done a windows search and couldn’t find any file like this so I changed the program to open this file to Navionics.exe. These changed all the files in this folder to open with Navionics.exe. I went into the program and it worked great. Saved my waypoints to sd card and I uploaded them to my GPS and I’m good to go. I don’t know what Navionics is doing or not doing with this problem but I’m pretty upset with them. After 6 days they haven’t done anything but thank me for being patient and they’ll get back to me with a solution asap. Does that mean, as soon as patience runs out. They sound great to work with until you have a problem. If you look at their website, they are all about sales but not much on support. I wish my unit would handle the Lakemaster charts. That’s the way I would go. Hope this helps someone. This is a great Forum.

I have a new 581i and went through the same thing. I was told I could use the Lakemaster chip, then I asked for more details and was told my unit wasn’t compatible. E-mailed them again about the first reply and was told again that it was not compatible. I justed ordered the Navionics Gold today per HB support.

I just bought the 581i and it works fine but the tech at Humminbird said I could use the Lakemaster chip with it but After asking another question about Florida inshore coverage area they told me I couldn’t use the Lakemaster, which was something I really wanted to use. Now I have to go with the Navionics Gold. I’m not to impressed with the customer service at Humminbird but I think their units are good. Used mine only once and guess I’m stuck with it but would have bought a different one had I known about the Lakemaster chip being not useable on the 581i.

I asked Hummingbird Service about the shore coverage of the Lakemaster chip and this Service tech told me my unit was not compatible. Now, I have one telling me it is and another telling me it isn’t. I sent them another e-mail. I bought this hoping it would work but now I don’t know. This last one told me I needed a Navionics Gold. Guess I’ll start shopping around. Hope to find a used one maybe. Just wanted to update you.

I hope all of Hummingbird’s service is not like this. I heard from them on the 5th day and apparently she (Denise) can’t read. I told them the manual was not correct and what did they tell me? The same instructions that was in the manual. If it wasn’t for this forum I still wouldn’t know how to save my tracks/routes and waypoints.

I just purchased a 581i from Cabalas for less than 300. I’ve only used it one time but so far I really like it. It’s not color but I couldn’t afford a more expensive one. You might check them out.

Looks like you’ll have to wait tomorrow. They are updating the web site. Supposed to be operating tomorrow.

I went outside and changed the user mode to advanced but it didn’t make any difference. My User manual only goes to page 90. It shows how to export data from the NAV, export all files tab but this tab is not shown on my GPS. Only in the manual. I sent an e-mail to hummingbird service yesturday but haven’t heard from them yet.
