Warroad side of low

    Has anyone had experience fishing this side of the lake in the winter and is it any good?

    The west side can be really good in the winter.

    I have based out of there many times. Dales resort, Swift Ditch, Springsteel, and the public access in Warroad are all decent options if you have the right equipment. I prefer Dales or Springsteel when the ice is good.

    Thanks guys when In that area do you shoot for the reefs or rocks usually?

    Try Whiskey Flats, 5 Mile Reef, 12 Mile Reef or 16 Mile Reef to start. Access may be limited unless you have a snowmobile or 4 wheeler.

    Pretty much anything past whiskey flats or 5 mile will be via a track machine only if there’s snow. Arensons/Dales area has lots of structure within a mile or 2 of shore.

    Fished arnesons last year right after Christmas. Caught just as many fish on that side as ballards latter in the year
