In case you missed my report here area few fish from Lake Amistad. 1st 23.5″, 2nd 22.5″, 3rd 21″ & the 4th image is a 20″. I threw the longear sunfish in just because it looked interesting and I had never caught any before. When they hit I swore they were large bass.

Here are a few of my nicest Smallmouth Bass caught with Steve Dezurik this past weekend on a St Jude’s trip up on the upper Miss R. For the 3 of us, We had numerous Smallmouth that were 18 and 19 inches, and I caught 2 of our 3 over 20 inch fish.

Steve will probably have a report up soon.

    Awesome trip, thanks Steve.

Not huge by any standards, but a decent smallie for some cold skinny water. 17″…. 2lbs 7 1/2oz

My brother got this bass at lake fork while we were down there over the weekend for the Berkley Big Bass Championships. He got it the last day of pre-fishing.

Oh yeah he caught it on a popper in 10′ of water on the edge of some pads

    It was 24 1/2″ and weighed 8.18lbs

A good largemouth from a Winona Area dredge pit. I spent the day fishing with Haywood 04 on several bodies of water. This one hit a white 5/8 0z jig and twin-tail trailer. The fish went 7.0 on Jeff’s scale and 6-8 on mine. It measured 21” long and a 16” girth. Using the all fish size calculator it comes up at 6.75 lbs but the bass formula it come up at 5.88. I question that. With two scales and the calculation I think 6.75 is about right.

It was a good time fishing with John Stears AKA Riverfan.
It was truly an honor to be with him for what he called his biggest bass out of a boat.
With all the hour and years that he has been on the water that is truly a memorable fish!
Thanks for the great day and hope to do it again soon!

Surprisingly, that was on a Minnesota lake 3 days ago. My memory of the name of the lake is almost as foggy as the picture itself. Baitfish this time of year was key to finding her. I hope she visits many many beds in the spring to spread eggs. My kids will surely enjoy catching her offspring.

6lbs 5oz. Same fish Steve Dezurik caught the day before I caught it. And John (riverfan), I caught a 7.5lbs bass that was also 21″ long and 18″ girth. That was weighed on an official scale at a tourney so I’m guessing your 6.75 is very close to the real weight.
