Snake identification

    Saw two snakes today. One was the size of a large night crawler. The other was about double the size. They both looked the same just different sizes.

    I had on a few years back and I think they are call a brown snake I think. They stay small and dont get to big. Cricket eater.

    Brown snakes. Common in Minnesota. I found one on the breakwater in Two Harbors six weeks ago. 13″-14″ is about tops for size on them.

    That’s what I originally was thinking but the light mark behind their head had me confused.

    Is the belly bright red? Because from the top it sure looks like a red bellied garter snake to me.

    Didn’t see the belly. But after getting home and looking online, I thought they were Red Belly Snakes as well…

    That’s pretty cool. I think they like to get some sun in the fall before hibernation. Seems like I see them more often on a warm fall day.
