As of this morning [Monday], Lake Zumbro is 3.5 feet over normal pool and a no wake is in place for the entire lake. Saturday had people in front of Fishermans on the ice yet, but open water was flowing well north of that point.

Also this morning, the Zumbro River here in Rochester and Cascade Creek are both running heavy, much moreso than yesterday. I’d have to assume that both forks of the middle branch of the Zumbro that enter from the west at Oronoco are running heavy too. They had plenty of water moving thru on Saturday but with yesterdays temps most snow should be in the watersheds now. To add to things, its raining right now and more is predicted later.

I’m thinking we could possibly see the lake at 5 feet tomorrow, maybe even today.

Well, well. Just over 3 feet from winter pool and that was it. Not bad. This morning the lake has settled to just a foot over the no wake and if we stay away from any crazy heavy precip it should get normal in a week.
