I fish mostly the Mississippi, but sometimes up north in wisconsin, so I would be looking more towards a midwest deal. What do you guys have and what do you like?

I have used and own both.
I am selling all of my Navionics chips as I switched to a Bird unit and they are for Lowrance.
I use the Lakemaster chip for pool 4.

I didn’t think Navionics produced GPS manufacturer specific
mapping chips like LakeMaster does.
I have a navionics chip and it get the job done, but I had a chance to use the LOW/Rainy Lake Master chip this past fall and I was amazed. The detail was great and the functionality it provided was awesome too.
I believe you would have to buy two different chips if you went with Lakemaster… the Minnesota chip for the Mississippi and obviously the Wisconsin chip for norhthern Wisconsin. I have never used Lakemaster and have always used Navionics for that reason alone. If you don’t mind buying multiple chips then based on what others have said Lakemaster would be the way to go.
Magnum….The WI Lakemaster chip covers the Mississippi pools 2 through 8 in 1ft contours…..
So he should be able to buy just one
Lakemaster all the way
