Was thinking of possibly bringing the boat with me to work in the morning and fishing afterward. Get off at 11am. Was trying to decide between pool 2 or 4. But prefer 2.
I’ll shoot ya a Facebook message in the morning if I need help joe.
    Appreciate the offer too!

Would be happy to help with the ramp if I wasn’t in Texas. Chain saw and pick axe are great tools. About the only thing a chisel is good at is pushing chunks around. We typically also have a rope tied to floation incase anyone goes through.

I hope to get out on Tuesday.

I stopped by the 494 ramp just before dark today (Friday). The ice extends out quite a ways from the ramp. It looks pretty thick close to shore. When I drove across the Wakota bridge, the channel looked open upstream and downstream as far as I could see. Seems to be a lot of shore ice but I didn’t see much floating in the channel. But that could change fast with the warm forecast.

Thanks for the photos Boone. Its killing me siting in Texas and seeing those nice temps up north. Wouldn’t be surprised to see boats out there sometime tomorrow.

I am going to swing down in a couple hours and at least get the front cleared out so a boat can get in. Will report back if successful

Going to need my big saw. Might be a day or two out yet. Lots of ice.

Nice work Joe. If I were in town I would probably be down there sawing ice also. Maybe Monday or Tuesday.

494 is out but I did get the levee free. Good to go down there. Might make it out tonight.

I did make it down there for a couple hours last night. Bite was slow. I ran up north of 494 but did not try to go up to the airport. I broke a lot of ice lose and would recommend running north and starting at your furthest north spots then work your way downstream.
There was so much ice that broke loose just from my wake that it filled the channel when I headed back down river. It should not be as bad today now that the thin pieces broke loose.
