Not sure how far up the river you are planning on going, however be warned that portion of the river is very shallow. I’m not sure a standard prop boat would make it very far except during high levels. And then there are logs.

We ran up to Hammond a few years ago from the Mississippi in are jet boats. Munchy is right on the shallow part. The first few miles were definitely the shallowest but it was sand.

You will run into log jams above the Highway 61 bridge where it really starts meandering. We have seen spots where a kayak has to be carried in the late summer and fall. There are a few nice bends with depth, but every straight shot is extremely shallow. I’ve never seen a prop boat more than a half mile or so up from the mouth.
