Looking into Livescope. Pretty big investment. What are the do’s and don’ts? Looking at a bundle package. Best one? I would like to put it on the boat but also use it one the ice. Hard to find any good videos on facebook other than guys just using them fishing. Looking for like comparisons and such. Any help is greatly appreciated. Best mounts?

I use mine for in the boat and on ice. I have use the summit shuttle and ducer mount with a 30amp/hr amped outdoors battery. I opted for the clam case for mine.

The pic is a rubber hose to protect the bending of the cable. They were known to come apart right away and Garmin will replace them if they do.

For my boat I use that same shuttle to power the black box for the livescope and tuck it under the dash. I have my livescope transducer off the side of the boat using my traxtech mount as I already had tracks on my boat. I had to charge it 3 times over the summer and fish almost every other day.

    Hope this helps.

I bought the ice fishing bundle last spring. Haven’t used it on the ice yet. I then bought a shaft mount that attaches to the Lund SportTrak on my boat from Brew City Trolling Motor Service. It’s spendy but a very nice mount.
When my dealer rigged my new boat this spring, I had them add a 12 volt accessory
wire from the electronics compartment that will reach anywhere in the boat. If I run out of battery power, I can hook it up to the house battery and still use the LiveScope anywhere in the boat.

I gutted a used trolling motor and sisters it next to my Terrova. It’s not at the mercy of the trolling motor. And I could orient it in any direction independent of the trolling motor.

Piece your bundle together yourself, this allows you to get the better pole and battery vs stock garmin and you can find deals (no sales tax) online saving a ton of $$

I did pretty much the same as Carver above. Summit Shuttle, Clam bag, Summit ice pole and perspective mount, but home made open water pole system which is not the greatest(work in progress). I also run an 18 amp lithium instead of the 30 amp. If you fish all day do the 30. I leave the open water xducer on the boat and run a network cable to my Ultra unit for open water so I can use the same xducers for both screens. I have never had a problem with Summit products, but I have seen a few issues which were correct with their great customer service. If you are on Facebook there are several groups for Garmin product, particularly Livescope that will also help with ideas to help out.

Carver thanks for the tip on traxstech. I’ll be picking up one of those for the pontoon this spring.

I use the summit shuttle set up for the hard water and Traxtech setup for the boat which is hands down better then having it mounted on my trolling motor.

I use the Garmin shuttle/bag & Summit Pole for ice fishing and then use the Summit pole with a ram ball & clamp mount for my Dock and Boat in the summer..
