Lake Winona Ice conditions

    Anyone been down to Lake Winona in past couple days? Taking friend and his Kids out, so LOTS of gear to haul. Ice thick enough for mid-size 4 wheeler?

    probably not, haven’t even seen anyone fishing it yet. the lake just locked up last Monday or Tuesday.

    Drove past last Monday and looked like it was just iced over. If it was me, I would not touch it yet with a 4 wheeler at least.

    Still some open water last Sunday. Safer to take kids to one of the back water spots that have 5″ or more.

    Saw couple portables out there yesterday morning, didn’t stop to check ice, was in hurry to get to pool 8.

    Last Friday there was 5 on the East end( bigger lake) and Saturday (1-8) there was 8 on the smaller lake. Only made 3″ during that cold snap. Stupid snow cover.
