Lake of the woods trip

    I’m heading up to Baudette to fish for walleye and was looking for any tips for mid Sept. I am guessing they will still be in the lake. Any help would be appreciated.

    We are going up but fishing on the Canadian side.

    I would suspect trolling in the open basin in 32-34 fow would still be good. Downriggers work well. If you don’t have them,…5 colors of lead with a deep lipped lures like husky jerks will get down to the fish. Sportsman resort and the Lake of the Woods tourism bureau do weekly reports. Good luck.

    We were just up there. Follow the huge group of boats… they are on fish. #5 and #7 shad rap. Clown, blue silver shiner and orange, or sunfish color
