Headed up for a long weekend. Stayed with Steve Sweet again for the 6th year. . On Thursday we headed out to Garden Island. The wind was calm out of the south. We found bigger slot fish up in 18-20 when we first started fishing. We slid out a bit after the bite slowed down and had a bonanza of eaters and small fish with an occasional slot mixed in. Friday we headed out to lighthouse gap about 10 am. Still calm wind out of the south. We caught fish steady again all day. A nice 28 was the big fish for the day. Lots more saugers by the gap. About 4 PM the wind switched to SSW and really picked up. We plowed through 3-4 footers to get home. It was a wet ride. Saturday the wind was really kicking so we opted to fish the river. We had slower but action but managed to catch fish in most places we stopped from the church all the way down to the resorts. Lucked out and had some great weather for the end of October.
