Went to Coon Lake in Anoka County today. Could not resist the warm weather. We packed light. No shanty or heater. Just poles, buckets, a sled, and depthfinder.
Bite was steady but subtle. Small perch, mixed size gills, and some decent crappies. Sorry no photos.
Diamond jigs tipped with Euro’s was the best.
Lots of cars and trucks on the ice. Saw one guy fishing with a 6 1/2 foot spinning rod and reel. Remember participation is what counts. Thumbs up.
Anoka County Sheriff was out patrolling on what looked like a spiffy “new” Yamaha snowmobile.
All in all great day outdoors with the kids.
