Finally, a chance to fish through a hole in the ice again. Since the ice was less than an inch thick all of our fishing was done from a dock. After spudding a few holes out from the dock we started with plain jigs and waxies. The fish bit like crazy but unfortunately you had to catch around 10 small fish for each keeper. We switched to Little Mics after awhile and although we didn’t catch as many fish we did manage bigger fish. We ended up with around 35 that we kept with the biggest being 8 1/2 inches. Although not an outstanding day, it still was a nice way to start this season.
