Does anyone know if there is a replacement program or if any sports shop handles replacement STX blades? I thought I read somewhere last year about replacement blades deal. I have 2 sets now and was either going to try the sharpener or have to get another new set?

Use a NICE file and put the blade in a vice. Hold the file at the matched angle and give it a few draws. Only file on the bottom of the blade, not the top.

I give my blades a few draws yearly and it keeps them cutting great, well for the past 10 years anyways.

Remember Jiffy is a chipper not a shaver like SM so the blades do not need to be honed as sharp as SM. Consequentley, that is why Jiffys are not as fast but there are pros and cons and im not opening that can of worms.

I also suggest you try sharpening. That is why I always stuck with Jiffy.

I bought a hand sharpener from fleet farm afew years back i use it on my chipper blades with good results takes alittle time but saves some money. I believe it was marketed by gary roach.
