Winnie and Leech Lakes

We have a group of us that head to Winnie in Late Feb. for an annual ice fishing trip. A few of us want to head to Winnie/Leech lakes for an earlier trip this year. Most likely late December into early January.

What I would like to know is when roughly do the roads start getting plowed onto these lakes. I understand that alot depends on temp and snow fall, but I’m just looking for an average time. We dont want to bring our atv’s to get around so we want to wait for truck travel.

Seems like here in northern WI early-mid January is about the time we can drive onto lakes safely with vehicles. If you want to give input on where to stay on either northern Leech or South Winnie I am open to suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

Give High Banks Resorts a call. They plow some of the roads on Winnie I think.
