There’s a great deal on a baitcaster that I have started using over the past few years and have been impressed with. It’s literally the Vexilar of baitcasters, not fancy but just does it’s job well. And for $80 right now it’s tough to beat.

I have 6 of these and they just work. Many people dog on them but they have never given me as little as a hiccup.

Exactly. Nothing fancy about them but they are workhorses.

I haven’t used a Lew’s reel but have heard good things. I’ve tried them on at stores but feel too small in my hand for my comfort but seem like a quality reel at a good price point.
