How soon is d-rigging effective?

    I know that the heat of the summer is when the launches typically hit the d-rigging pattern up in the main basin on LOTW, but I was wondering how soon that bite viable. Is Mid-June too early to hit them good out on the mud flats, or is it pretty much a mid-July and later proposal? I got invited to fish with some guys up there and they want to down rig if at all practical. I have never done that this early, so I am curious as to what to expect.

    June 4th of last year we were pulling lead core and #5 and #7 shad raps out in the basin and we were pounding them everyone else was jig fishing not catching much water temp plays the part but i think you’ll catch em
