Looking to get some info for breeders or what not. The in-laws want another dog and these are the two breeds… Thanks in advance!

August 24, 2012 at 12:47 pm #1094569I have a Springer/Retriever mix. Best dog, especially with kids. He gets a little excited from time to time (10 years old) but will let the kids pound on him and let the baby pull his hair. And he’s not much of a hunter, but will jump 4 feet in the air if I ask him if he wants to get a Walleye.
I can open the front door to the house and he’ll go sit by the truck for 2 hours waiting to go fishing.

Huge difference between “field” and “show” springers.
I’ve had both field & bench springers, and both hunted well, and were great pets. All were house dogs too.

August 24, 2012 at 5:07 pm #1094654Try bear creek kennels in forest city Iowa. I got my Springer from them two years ago best dog I have had. I don’t hunt him but he’s a great house dog and likes to travel and fish with me as well.they said they were having two litters this fall.
