    8. They don’t need to be in every lake that can’t support them….that and they have scales.

Just a guess here…Because a lot of the lakes that are stocked people don’t even fish for walleye that much

Because stocking money now needed for roadside check points.

Because some like myself may think the books are being cooked when we see millions of fry being stocked in lakes less than 8 ft deep…

Because as a country we cannot continue to throw money into pet projects that have little if no return.

If the DNR decided that they were going to spend more money on understanding individual lakes to determine which species could be best managed in them, and then stock just that species, I am in.

Ex. A shallow lake with heavy weedcover may be very well suited for bass . Manage this population.

We do not need to plant fish so that people can eat them. I would prefer to let people have food stamps, same concept just a different approach.

However, there are many lake shore owners, resort owners and walleye guides that will not agree with us.

Is that a catfish in your avatar? If so, you are disqualified from having an opinion.

I like your thinking, but to my knowledge studies have not shown walleye to be a main source of food for the big girls…

    8. Pretty soon Devils Lake will be in our back yard and we can just fish for them there.

    7. With all roadside ANS checks, boat washes, and removing Eurasian invasive aquatic rhubarb who has time to fish for them anyway.

    6. If it ain’t Pool 4 in the spring and fall or Mille Lacs in the spring everybody is chasing them in Canada eh.

    5. Two words…. smoked sheephead

    4. Half of them will end up in gill nets washed up on shore anway….

Suckers or ciscos, depending on the lake. Probably no need to stock them in most cases because few people target those species.

Anyone who thinks muskies are eating all the walleyes is an idiot.

Maybe we should stop stocking walleyes because hardly anyone fishes for them in Minnesota. Are there even any walleye fishermen on IDO?

We should stop stocking Walleye so the funding can go back into the general fund. It can then be used for pet projects, travel expense to conventions and round-tables.It also can be used for additional vehicles, office space, desks, paper, and paper clips. I would imagine additional office space and buildings will be needed to house the people keeping track of their new found funding. The remaining $17.00 can be used for 4 wheel ATV trails.

Yes, I can see where we need to put a stop to this.

    I like Matt’s Devil’s Lake idea better.

Wonder if we could make a fish passageway from the Mississippi over to Devils?

No, we’ll close down offices and layoff COs. Then we can rely on the natives for net surveys to see how well the stocked walleyes are being established. They are so thorough, they’ll probably want to do it daily.
