In short – sloooowwwww. We went to vineyard on Sunday and out of Lybecks Monday and fished from 16ft down to 31 ft and for 3 people – 2 wallyeye and 4 perch. Not a skunk weekend, but for 14 hours of fishing, pretty slow – talked with lots of people with the same results….

Are trucks driving everywhere on the lake now? Not that you can’t still catch fish at the right times, it just seems to change the bite up there every year when the trucks start cruising everywhere.

There is a good 15″ to 18″ of ice all around – there are a few drifts around, but you can get around pretty well – the roads out of resorts are great but still keep the speed down. Everything was perfect except the bite. Maybe next time….

Its been rough for me as well. I took an afternoon up there with my Dad on Sunday and stuck 3 fish for 4 hrs.

But man did we mark fish

I blame it on lunar phase, high tide, pressure, water clarity, temperature, and El Nino.
