Just got back from a couple days last week in southwest Iowa on 3 Mile And 12 Mile Lakes near Creston. 3 Mile, which has a campground was our home base and had the more willing bite of 9-10″ crappies. But 12 Mile on the otherhand was home to the bigger fish, 10-12″ bluegills and 11-13″ crappies with an occasional 14-16″ walleye or bass, but all were more scattered and harder to find. We arrived wednesday behind a thunderstorm and had storms in the area continously thru friday, which due to high winds 35-40 mph was a wash. It was mostly a jig bite pitched in near cover, 1/16 oz with a twister tail did the trick. In the deeper water a waxy under a slip bobber did the trick. Would love to spend more time at these two jewels !

My brother-in-laws were down there also the same time…haven’t heard how they did….I believe they got home saturday night.

Sounds like you still had some good fishing in between storms
