Ma and I did the cabin for a couple days and I fished the breakwater a couple times a day. I got into trout on every trip out simply casting spinners and krokodiles. The water has lost a little heat and I got fish over 80 feet of water all the way thru the water column. A couple small salmon showed up for other anglers as well as a few nice whitefish. I brought a couple whitefish home for a small boil for the better half. I brought home a pair of real nice native redfins for the smoker too.
The guys in boats are taking a few fish now where the bite had been pretty much non-existant for a while. They’re going deep to find the trout but there are fish moving into the big basin ahead of the Twin Ports so hopefully the fall bite will be a good one….and not like last fall’s flop.
