Mississippi River tip-up fishing for pike

What backwater areas should I start looking at for good tip-up fishing for northerns? I would like to find an area with a chance of my eight year old grandson to pull a bunch of pike out of the hole. I am in Inver Grove Heights and am assuming I need to go south to the Winona area? A bait shop that would help out with directions?

I ice fish that area alot. I have not seen all that many pike taken so far this year,but I have seen tons of nice Largemouth bass being taken. I myself mainly fish panfish. Good luck though
