GPS- Lowrance 4900M owners…or previous owners…

    Can any of you that own or previously owned a 4900m provide me with arguments in favor or against purchasing one of these discontinued models? Are they worth $300? Reeds is selling them at the Sports Show for $299.

    I run a 4900M. That price is a steal.. I paid $550

    Excellent unit, no problems. I used it all winter on my sled as well..

    I got mine from a wholesale company for $404. Sounds like a good deal.

    You have the 4800M , the 4900M is a 7 inch.

    Only limitation is Color. Great price, great unit. For those with color it’s hard to go back to gray.

    Like Derek said, that’s a great price for the 4900. But, I would also opt for color. Contour mapping is much, much easier to read on color units.

    Thank you for the input, I picked up a 4900M and the Lakemaster WI chip.
