Fished Clear Lake Thursday for several hours and came home with right at 75 yellows. They are spawning now and very easy to catch. I am not going to fish for walleyes till after tourney this weekend with the yellows going like they are. Talked to several guys pre-fishing for tournament and walleye bite is average at best. Last year the eyes were on fire at this time.
Any size to them? I’d say the average size this year is a little smaller than usual. Is that what you’re seeing? They are fun to catch either way though. Take a kid fishing it’s a sure thing when the yellows are on. 
Majority of the fish we brought home were 9-11″. Handful of bigger ones. You are right on the size being slightly smaller this year. The yellows I caught through the ice were much larger than I had ever seen before. Can’t find them now though. Hope to get over to lake again this coming week.
