Opener on Castle Rock and/or Petenwell

Hey All,

I am considering a 4 day trip to Castle Rock or Pentenwell for the opener since our normal northern lake will most likely be ice covered for the May 4th opener. I have 14 guys committed to join us this year and would appreciate any info on resorts or cabin rentals in the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are complete newbies to the lake and basically taking a shot in the dark. Thanks IDOers!

Fishing will be really good at that time. Crappies should be on the spawn in all shallow bays and fingers on the wood. Petenwell or Castlerock either way will both have a good walleye bite near the mouth of both on post spawn eyes coming down river. Bass will be on any riprap you find and whitebass will be stacked up like cordwood below the dams. Oh yeah the cats will be loaded up the rivers thick as thieves to spawn to!
