The story of the day was COLD. More like freezing your off really. We fished not far from Long Island, so just out of the bay.

We started off Friday morning with having to jump off the ATV’s. Then having to start them every hour or so though the day to make sure the battery’s held up. And Friday was tropical like compared to Saturday. Saturday was whiteout conditions with the 20mph winds and blowing snow, add -10F and we probably shouldnt have gone. It was just plain scary really.

Now down to the good stuff. Fishing was excellent, for whitefish and coho. We caught more fish then we could count. They were all pretty small, but we kept a few whitefish for the smoker. When the coho’s were coming through, they would hit your spoon so hard you couldnt hardly react fast enough to set the hook. We missed so many fish, it was like we didnt have any hooks on 1/2 the time. It was FANTASTICLY FUN

We were going to head for deeper water and try our hand at some lakers, or move into brown waters, but with the way the coho’s were hitting, and the dangerous weather, we opted out of venturing too far.

All and all, the ONLY thing that could have been better, was the weather.
