Back at it. Beautiful morning to be in the stand. Saw four does and a small buck in the first twenty minutes. Just had a fox come through as well.

Checked cams tonight. Wow what a difference in just a few days. Trail cam had up to 5 bucks together until 10/11/16. Since, all single bucks except for 1-1/2 years Olds.
Hopped in a stand and sat for a couple hours hoping to get some pics of a buck I want. Just a couple mature does and a few yearlings tonight. Cam pics shown he was beneath my stand this morning

So far today has been quiet both spots I’ve hunted. My time on public land so far this year has been a struggle. The boat ride to the second spot of the day was a little to dicey to stay tell dark.

Wish I could get service at the farm. Great night last night. Saw 21 deer, but zero bucks. Farmer was cutting corn and deer running everywhere. Sure wish I could take a doe, too many at our farm. If we have a tough winter it’s going to be ugly.

In stand at home now. 25 geese just flew over 20 yards up doah

This was my view Saturday morning sitting over a nice clover plot. And had my little buddy come and visit for about 30 minutes. He’s kinda getting to be a PITA giving away my hiding location to the deer.

Made it out to one of my favorite river spots this morning. Had a doe and button buck come by but that was it. She did stop and check out two scrapes as she worked her way by me. This evening I grabbed the ground blind and Gf and headed out to another spot closer to home but had nothing but mosquitoes, squirrels, and turkeys.

Been in the tree since 1. 25-30mph gusts but that’s not going to stop me from hunting!

Hey everybody, I thought it would be interesting if everyone posted the general area they are hunting and posting updates from. In the case of deer season, a lot of us are not hunting where our profiles say we are from, so I thought it would be interesting to see where everybody’s hunting.

30 minutes into the season I have already seen a shooter 10 and a pope and young fork. The shooter came through to quick for a muzzy shot. Maybe I should have brought the rifle. Lol

Pine County east of Hinckley 9 miles.

More shots than I’ve heard for years. There must be deer somwhere.

I’m in a new stand (see thread below) and nothing moving so far.

Kicked 3 deer out in dark on way in.

5 miles east of Braham MN. A ton of shots this morning, kicked two out on my walk in of course. The woods were crawling with life this morning, heard a bunch of yotes on my walk, saw a couple grouse, heard a ton of pheasant and a few turkey as well. A nice morning, chillier than predicted which I was happy about. Good luck everyone

Central MN, between Brainerd and Garrison. Lots of action in our woods this morning. Saw 10-12 deer this morning, 8 antlerless, 3-4 bucks. Most everyone in our group had good action.
5 deer were harvested, 3 bucks and 2 does.
Deer are quartered and cooling. 73 degrees is too warm!
It has been dead quiet since 11:00 AM.
It was a much better morning than anticipated!
Have safe and enjoyable hunt everyone!

Things have definitely changed since yesterday morning. The deer are not moving much. I have only heard a few shots in the first hour today and I have yet to see a deer which is weird for my spot. We have 6 guys hunting around 1000 acres so the pressure is light. After today it Will probably be just me. Even last night my usual group of does came out with only 20 minutes left when prior to the gun season they would cone out over an hour early.

I was just looking at the weather forecast for my area. Thursday is a high of 60 and on Friday a high of 40. That’s still not that cold but a full days sit might be in order on those days.

    Pine County, East of Hinckley.

Catching up on updates from evening stand. Sat in ground blind near my south plot.

Saw the most deer I’ve seen at on stand in years. 9 deer filed by including 2 big body bucks.

No shooters but nice to be seeing deer.

Update for my evening stand. Spent a very entertaining afternoon and evening watching deer eat in the plot. A spike came in and chased a doe all over the plot. At one point I thought they were going to run over the ground blind.

I had 7 deer in the plot tonight, so that’s more deer than I’ve seen in the opening weekend for over 5 years. No big bucks, but the does are obviously hot and the big boys will be looking for lover.

Had a 135-140″ 9 pt come to 35 yards at 330 yesterday. I called him in, but got behind some downed trees so I didn’t have a shot. Saw a buck chasing a doe and fawn buy couldn’t tell how big. Sitting in the same stand this morning but haven’t seen any.

    Roseau County MN,
Evening of day 3 I changed stands. I saw three does and a fork horn.
Morning of day 4 I woke up to a very hard frost. Saw a spike early on that was cutting through my clover plot. It was probably headed to the river to bed. Nothing since.
