The other things to take into consideration for both legality and insurance is that both trailers must not exceed the tow rating of the tow vehicle. Best way to do this is a CAT scale, but if you have an accident or claim the state and the insurance companies are going to use posted numbers.

This. We used to do the prime rib roast but switched to brisket last year and everyone seems to like it better. It’s also half the cost. Does take twice as long though.

Lund 1750 Tyee on a roller trailer. Just me and the wife most of the time so basically by myself when it comes to loading/unloading. With the Drotto it’s easy and painless, without it’s a nightmare. Boat will roll back off the trailer until it’s secured when loading so it’s either run the winch strap to the back of the trailer, hook there, and winch it all the way up by hand, get out with the motor in gear to hook up the winch line, or use the Drotto. Drotto clicks in without any drama and we’re out of the water less than 2 min after I back in. Must have item for me.

I started on an auto when I was that age and I remember being super embarrassed being the only guy who had to bend over and pick up my shells. I begged my dad to let me use the old pump he had. Once I had that I never looked back. I second all the posts suggesting an over/under but would throw in a vote for a good pump. I understand autoloaders are better in ever way, but if you can shoot well with a pump an autoloader will be even easier when you pick one up.

Ran my Traeger 780 30 hours this weekend with no trouble. Burned more pellets than usual, but that’s expected when it’s -10.
