1/4 ounce purple and black jig and char/pepper paddle tails did the trick for me. I believe I seen you up there that day Dan. I was in the white and blue Smokercraft. Should have stayed for the late dragging bite, it can be awesome up there this time of year.
May 31, 2011 at 9:49 pm #970142I’ll be down that way in a couple of weeks, and would be interested in how you do. Keep us posted.
March 20, 2011 at 11:29 am #948855I got one about this time last year and I love it. It’s hard to take your eyes off the screen with all the detail it shows so watch out.
March 17, 2011 at 8:21 pm #948192I use it when vertical jigging with two poles. I use the remote when jigging with one pole.

I read on another forum (and from a reliable source) that the new Humminbird models are starting to ship. Great news.

If anybody sees one let us know. can’t wait to check it out more closely.
When does that 10% coupon at West Marine expire on Humminbird combo sonars?
February 8, 2010 at 11:33 pm #840837Darn, I have to work on Saturday. I’m going to have to get me a real job where I have weekends off.
That’s ok though Dean, because I’ll be heading up your way the 1st of March. Will the ramps be open?

If you have a co-pilot on your Terrova, does it have to be removed for the i-pilot to work? I know the auto pilot has to be replaced in the head of the trolling motor, but do I have to do anything with the co-pilot on the side plate?
Thanks
Sorry didn’t see the tread above.

October 14, 2009 at 12:02 am #808998I just got back from Lynxville. I caught only one 16 inch walleye and a bunch of very small saugers. The grass makes it hard to do anything but vertical jigging, and even then you’re cleaning grass off your jigs every few minutes. If you can get above the grass, head north. I think next time I’m heading to Red Wing, I’ll drive the extra two hours to not have to deal with that mess.

And one trick that I have learned to prevent the loss of a snap weight is to thread on a snap swivel on to the ring attached to the red plastic snap. Attach the red plastic snap to the line as instructed and open the snap swivel and attach to your line. The other trick that may not be evident is after hooking a fish, reel up to the snap, remove it while keeping tension on the fish. This will prevent the weight from smacking the fish in the head and reduce the number of lost fish.
You can also put a barrel swivel on your main line a few feet above your lure/bait, so the snap weight will stop there should it come free during the fight. This way it won’t slide down and hit your fish.
August 11, 2009 at 12:38 am #796581Don’t you know that is also called a white perch? I think the guy you gave it to was laughing all the way home because you just handed him the fillet mignon of the Mississippi.
