My wife gets it for me at the local grocery store, County Market. She says it may be hard to find, so ask a clerk. It needs to be 100% pure, unsweetened. She also said to try an organic store or market. She takes good care of me!

Absolutely on the cherry juice! That stuff works & the taste grows on you. Lots of water and try to figure out what in your diet is causing the imbalance of uric acid. Good luck, gout sucks.

Quicksilver DFI oil works. I don’t know of anyone locally who sells the opti oil bulk, so I buy the quicksilver DFI. My merc tech says it is just fine, that’s what he runs through his opti.

Agreeing with all said. Was with my buddy when his ’99 or ’00 150 opti blew the powerhead. Don’t want to hear that sound or have that dead in the water feeling again. Love my ’07 225 opti – nothing better than that opti growl!

Just in case you haven’t heard it enough…….never, ever, never, never, ever hammer on a cold opti. I have my boat & opti serviced every fall and then my merc tech guy gets evrything hooked up & running for me again in the spring. He tells me that multiple times every time he services my motor. Absolutely love my opti! Don’t want to be an alarmist, but weren’t the late 1990’s & early 2000’s the years that there were some issues with the bigger optis? My buddy had a 150 opti that blew its powerhead. If I remember, it was a ’99 or ’00. I would assume if there were potential issues, a good tech could catch it before there were bigger issues. My tech told me the issues result from some of the cylinders heating up faster than others, therefore the need for a warmed up motor.

Good choice on the reel. Also check out the Fenwick Elite Tech Walleye Rods. Can get a 6’6″ or 6’9″.

The new model president has a rubber handle and a braid ready spool. The Supreme XT is pretty nice, as well.

I might be old school, but I prefer Berkley Trilene, either XT or XL when using mono. Have strayed a few times, but always came back to Trilene.

I use my gas grill as a smoker. Different places online tell you how to set it up for smoking. One less thing to buy and store when not in use. I don’t do real large quantities, so it works just fine for me. Doing a couple batches of venison jerky today.

I assume you were asking about the Elite Tech Walleye Series rods. You will be pleased with either ML or M. All about your own personal preference and what feels best. As I said in previous post, I like the 7’2″ ML rigging rod, but I haven’t fished anytyhing heavier than a 3/8 oz with them. The 3/8 oz was fishable, but wouldn’t go any heavier. Most of the time I’m fishing 1/4 or 1/8 oz with the MLs. If you will be using mostly 3/8 or heaveier, should consider the M. The other thing you may want to factor is what kind of line you will be using. I use Fireline Braid almost exclusively, so I like the softer, more forgiving rod tip on the ML. Just a few more thoughts

I personally like the 7’2″ ML. Works great for rigging. Also like it for pitching light jigs. I have always preferred a ML over a M, just my 2 cents. A Pflueger Supreme XT is a good choice to pair it up with if you’re also looking at reels. Size 30 or 25.

Pretty sure you are out of luck if you’re looking for the old school TUFFY stickers, but if you call TUFFY @ 1-800-359-4416 they should be able to hook you up with some new style stickers.

Here are the photos of the Team Walleye Bite bottom bouncers. Jeff said he should have more info on these on his site and facebook page in a few weeks.

I talked with Jeff today & he texted me some pics of the bouncers , but I can’t get them to export. I asked him to e-mail them to me, so will post when I get them. He said they are working to get them on the website, but may be a couple weeks yet. In the meantime, he will be at the Eau Claire show next weekend with his bouncers.

    Denny,
I just read on their facebook page that they introduced their bottom bouncers at the Madison show, but don’t have them on their site. Coming soon!

I couldn’t find them anywhere on their site or facebook page. Try contacting Jeff Boutin through either of these 2 avenues. I don’t know if it will help, but tell Jeff that Dan McGuire told you about their bottom bouncers. If I happen to talk with Jeff, I will see if I can get any info.

I usually use the pencil style. Saw some interesting bouncers at the Madison Fishing Expo last weekend. If you haven’t seen the Team Walleye Bite bouncers, check them out. Easy on & off and can adjust your snell length!

Supreme XTs I bought last year were braid ready. They worked! Picked up a couple of the new braid ready Presidents, but haven’t put the Fireline Tracer Braid on them yet.

Ditto, try Taylor Corp for a job. Ran a press at Precision Press for three years while I went to MSU. Haven’t been back to the area for several years so not sure if these places still exist, but all the Taylor Corp companies, Carlson Craft, Fine Impressions, Precision Press employed a lot of college kids, especially Carlson Craft. Ah, the good old days….schooner night at the Albatross….

Do the packer players really need to talk smack and celebrate after every routine play?? Maybe so with all the drops so far today?/

Have not used it myself, but have some buddies who have. Here are some of there thoughts-
positives = castability, sensitivity, no stretch, stronger than mono
negatives = not as abrasion resistant as braids or other superlines
They really liked it and said it definitely has its nitch or key presentations where it excells. Guess reel manufacturers are going to have to start packaging reels with 3 spools, 1 for superline, 1 for mono, and 1 for nanofil!

I’ve had really good luck with the Gander in Wausau/Mosinee. Been pleased with the customer service as well. Keep up the good work Tom Keenan and crew!
