Chart/Grn core or Chart/Org core? And Moxi or Pulse-R? Night/day make a difference? Glitter?
I like the chartreuse with the orange core Pulse-R and I also like the purple with the chartreuse tail.

I’ll be checking my shore spots when the river passes 40 degrees. In my limited experience it seems like that is when I’ve noticed they start to get fairly aggressive again. I typically use cut sucker with good success. Sure wish we could use bluegill…..
Haha no kidding, it would be a lot cheaper.
I’ll definitely stay mobile then, do you guys usually use fresh cut sucker if you can find them?

Buddy and I pulled two limits a weekend ago doing as described in the thread you’ll find above.
A great time to fish for them
That was a great thread to read! Lots of info to think about, my only problem is my boat isn’t ready yet and I’m running low on time to get it prepped so I’ll be on shore which might make things a little more challenging!
I’ll be giving them a try soon and report back with my results! Thanks for the help guys.
I imagine 3Rivers will be along shortly. I spend some time chasing them at ice out. It can be great fishing.
What kinds of things are you looking for to find them? Deep holes? Or do they move shallow around creek mouths right away? I’ve heard of some great early spring fishing since they group up under the ice, just looking for a starting point when the water is this cold.
After being skunked the first two times out at my shore spot yesterday’s trip finally produced some fish. Caught a solid 18.5 walleye along with some small sauger and my buddy caught a beautiful red horse. Nice to be getting some bites again.
I saw you guys down there! I was with my girlfriend, we were a little further down stream from you guys and we only caught one sucker and lost a decent fish that we never got to see. Also it turns out I’m following you on Instagram as well I just didn’t realize it 👍🏻 Tight lines
Thank you Mike and Matt for the response and advice, I’ll be down giving it my best shot! Where is the closest place to park by the Hwy 5 bridge and walk down on the south end?
Hey everyone I’m a long time reader but first time poster, this weekend I’m looking to head down to pool 2 somewhere between the Ford Dam and Fort Snelling looking for some walleyes and or saugers. I was down by the marina across from Fort Snelling for a little while and only saw one caught from a boat right off shore. So what I was wondering if you could help me with was some good shore fishing spots for this time of year when things are just getting rolling? Thank you in advance, any advice is appreciated! 👍🏻
