243 is a great choice. If you can afford a 22-250 they have practically no recoil. Hard to find the big game loads though…
My sons used both until they were larger and heavier.
My 2 cents…November 20, 2014 at 1:06 pm #1475276Good to go in Wausau with a solid 2+ inches on the lakes and backwater. Seeing some sleds, not time for permanent shacks or vehicles yet…
October 31, 2014 at 12:56 pm #1468979Good point Grouse. I bought a 40 of land to deer hunt 3 years ago. I still come across trespassers who think “Old Herbie” still owns the land and he told them they could hunt there whenever they wanted…
Of course they must not know Old Herbie is dead and I bought the land from his widow….3 years ago this last August!
I just tell them that I now own the land and will not be letting others hunt there.
I’m sure it will happen again this deer season, even though I have put up a chain gate and posted the land with my name on the signs…October 22, 2014 at 9:55 am #1466207Happened in Canada 20 years ago…fishing partner put a musky treble deep into his thumb…
Got out my very sharp Buck folding knife and just like a surgeon, sliced his thumb down to the hook, removed it and butterfly taped that baby tight!
He fished like that the next 2 days. Got home and had the doc throw a few stitches in.Never even whimpered!September 18, 2014 at 9:05 am #1456038Buy it! Great auger at a good price. Used they get over $250…
September 10, 2014 at 10:56 am #1453426Good Luck, really. I took my sons bow to a flea market, no decent offers. Tried 2 bow shops, they wont sell used bows….liability! Tried CL with a fair price $100 for a $300 bow with accessories…received NO calls.
Finally took it to an auction house where it sold for $35, and I got 75% of that!
Like I said, Good Luck. It seems with WI crossbows, bows are selling dirt cheap at this time.May 21, 2014 at 12:53 pm #1411715Low miles, I wouldn’t be concerned about that as long as everything else looks good.

“Drinking the Kool-Aid” is a figure of speech commonly used in the United States that refers to a person or group holding an unquestioned belief, argument, or philosophy without critical examination. It could also refer to knowingly going along with a doomed or dangerous idea because of peer pressure.

Great tracking keel design.March 19, 2014 at 1:37 pm #1397542Nice!

heirlooms!March 13, 2014 at 7:40 am #1395761I have fished the Dubay, Rothschild and Mosinee dams, but only from shore. Excellent fishing….boats have to be careful now because the water runoff makes very fast currents and sometimes causes a strong undertow. Almost every year we lose a boater or two who get too close to the dam and get pulled under. Hopefully a boater can give you better info. Although waders give you access to some very good off shore fishing!
