I heard last night on KFAN that Tonka was now ice free. I plan to head over there today to check it out myself. Crappies here I come!!!!

I got the same information yesterday, so we took a little drive late in the afternoon.
There’s open water, yes. About 20 feet out, then it’s ice covered. Maxwell, Crystal, North Arm, Excelsior, Browns….are all covered in ice.
A small boat or canoe may be able to make it around the shorelines. It really depressed us due to the fact that we have a new boat in the garage that’s been begging to get on the water.
I did hear that Cedar Lake in Scott county is open.
