A surprise visit from our other son and his friend gave me an excuse to hit the river again yesterday while the wife held the fort down.

Once again we took to trolling the rapalas in the afternoon around the hwy 12 bridge area. Didn’t seem to matter that we started out under an overcast sky with light rain quickly moving thru giving way to a sticky sunshine. The hot ticket was definately the jointed shad in the firetiger with it bringing in all 4 legals.

    Two 19″ eyes and a 15 1/2 and 16″ sauger.

One of the eyes came just passing under the bridge off the rock bar towards the west side under the clouds and the other up river a bit off the rocky shoreline between the wingdam and the creek bed under bright sunshine.

Most of the sauger are coming in off the flats on the east side of the river just downstream from the bridge.

Sorry for the poor pic. The wife is just learning to use the digital.
