Just got the graphite reproduction of two of the GIANT Bluegils my wife caught more than a year ago. We have been waiting 18 months, but WOW – worth the wait!

Big one on the right was 11.5 long and 6″ wide! The left one was just a bit shorter. We did not weight them, just took lots of photos and measurements for the mount.

The lake in Iowa where we caught those gils is also a great bass lake for the 3-4 weeks where you can get the boat in the lake. Max depth is 6 foot and the weeds get so thick I can’t drop the trolling motor. We normally fish bass for a few hours and then switch to the gils at the end of the day to bring home a few to eat. I have tried to ice fish it, but have not been able to find those gils in the winter, just too much area to cover. I think if someone would have a LiveScope that would help.
