This is a gen 1 unit. What’s going on over on the right hand side? Is there an adjustment I can make to get rid of that?
Also what is all that “clutter” up towards the top of the water column?
Thank you in advance. This is an old unit that I gave to a buddy

first, it is showing that you are in real swallow water.
go into main menu and reset it to default settings.
then you can set settings the way they look best for you, there is a bunch of settings in the HDS units.
go on line there is many sites that show you what work best.
    you can adjust from there.

here is some that I have run:
Leaving it in Auto sensativity is pretty good
but if you want to take that off Auto, try these
    sensativity 83
    colorline 80
    ping 12
    chart speed normal

Now the contrast should be set around 70
and that is pretty much all you need to adjust
to get the best pic I like pallet 6 and leave it in auto range.

this is just a place to start —-
reading manual also can help to find where all the settings are
it can be found on-line also

On the right is the Amplitude scope. To turn it off, press the menu key once.
Then scroll down to “View”, then press right arrow and another window will
open. You should see Amplitude scope here. Uncheck the box by pressing enter.
Next, set “Surface clarity” to Low. Press menu once and go down to Advanced.
Press right arrow and you will see Surface clarity, press enter and set to Low.
Also set Noise rejection on Low.
