Had a great day on 11 Friday. Spent 3 1/2 hours fishing on sand flats 1-2 miles down from the dam and caught 35 sauger and walleyes (about 2 to 1 ratio). Most were short, but enough bigger ones to have a limit if I had been in the mood to clean fish. Used Dubuque rigs, with a ringworm on the bottom jig and a plain hook and minnow on the trailer. The ringworm caught more fish, mainly because of short strikes on the minnows.
Good time to get out for action, if not for piggies.

ahhhhhh… yeah Ive had good luck with that dubuque rig and a ringworm on the bottom… often I use a crank on the top!
and for a head on the ringer one of those HEAVY nuckleball Zonar jigs that are just MADE for dubuque rigs….
