hey guys, i am purchasing a tuffy osprey 1760 within the month, and the brochure says it has an 8′ rod locker. My question is, does anybody here own one and will it fit an 8’6″ rod or is it possible to modify one of the tubes to fit a 8’6″ rod? i love the boat so its not a deal breaker but it sure would be nice to store all my rods. thanks for any info?
You can fit 8’6″ rods in the top rack. Your going to love that boat, Its favorite boat to fish out of. Good luck
I couldn’t tell you about the 8-6 rods, but I can get a 7-6 one pc in there. Little trick I learned last year… replace the carpeted cover over the batteries with a thin piece of plastic. opens up 5 extra rod tubes! this has worked out great for me.
I’m running 24 volts and no on board charger so the extra space in the battery area is reserved for something I like to call…. Beer!
