Pulled the marten/fisher line yesterday. Took 3 male fishers and a marten on the first check. Decided to pull on the second check regardless of catch – and wouldn’t you know it……..a small female fisher was waiting for me. There is just something intoxicating about skunk essence on a sub-zero breeze……. 
Overall – I can not complain. 2 checks, 26 traps per check, 5 target critters……
Now the long wait until the NAFA auction check arrives……

Wats – Thanks. I was somewhat surprised. Historically I have done poorly on the first check, but this season I had 4 animals(personal best for me for a single check) on the first check. This was after a 3day wait(72 hour check law with killing sets). This was in 2 dozen sets. I had a male fisher in my first set – and a marten in my last set that day….made for a nice start and finish.
NExt year I can be one of the guys that says “the 9-day season is PLENTY of time to get the limit….”….lol.
