Has anyone else on IDO been seeing a higher than normal number of tagged walleyes caught this year on the Pond? Fished most of day Saturday and until 1:00pm on Sunday and boated 3 different tagged fish. Up until this weekend, I had only saw pictures of tagged fish. They seem to be everywhere this year.

BTW, the Big Pond is still on fire!! Boated 78 fish this weekend! peace

Good to hear they both stayed in. The use two tags in case one of them falls out.

We were wondering why they had 2 tags. 2 of the fish still had both tags and 1 only had one tag that looked like it had been there for some time.

I see my link didn’t work. It was to a page on the DNR site, talking about tagging a bunch of fish on ML this year to use as a population study. Google “Mille Lacs fish tagging” and it should be one of the top couple of results.

Yes, Yes, and Yes. grin We pulled spinners on the south end gravel for a while. After that slowed down for us, early afternoon, we went to the mud and caught a few more pulling spinners again. Then, around 6 or so we went back toward shore on the east side and set up for a very fun bobber bite. Chartreuse and orange were our best colors with the blades. We fished 26′-31′ all day.
