Super Bowl, Live or recorded?

Are you watching the entire circus, or just the game? I just set up to start recording the kickoff. I’ll give it an hour or so, then start watching. Fast forward the B.S.. Maybe stop at an interesting commercial. No halftime show, thank you. I pointed out to my older brother. You show your age when you say your taping the game. Like to see the Bengals win it, as I usually take the underdog. But I think that may be a tough nut.

I think the Rams have to win but at the same time you can’t bet against burrow. He just had a way of rallying the troops. Should be an interesting game with the contrasting styles.

I’m actually looking forward to the half time show for some reason. Normally I don’t but I’m curious to see how they do it with all those people.

I’ve got a 3 hour drive today. Timing it out for leaving here around kick off time. Takes half or more of the traffic off the road. Won’t waste the dvr space on NFL.

Halftime with Snoop Dog no thanks. Hope Bengals win but most important that my numbers hit.

Live, but I’ll pause it at halftime to put the little monster to bed. Then with some commercial skipping I’ll be back caught up to live by the end

We’re going over to another couple’s house for dinner and the game, so it’ll be on the whole time. How much we watch depends on how good of a game it is. I’ll pull for the underdog Bengals. This game will be live, but my favorite way to watch is to record it. The remote I use has a fast forward that jumps 30 seconds, which is perfect to watch a play, skip the huddle and the annoying analyst comments, and start up at the next snap. I’m hoping for some decent commercials. Halftime, no hope.

    Random off topic question:

Anyone here put some cash on the line during the game?

I’m not a gambler. Hate casinos, hardly ever go beyond an occasional raffle ticket with “gambling.” The SB is the exception. I buy 2 squares on the same board every year for $50 a pop. I also throw $50 into prop bets that a guy from work loves dealing with (online sports betting). It makes the game a bit more interesting even when it’s not close.

I would maybe put a buck or two on it if I thought it was a legit game. However after seeing some reviews of plays I can’t say the games are legit anymore. So, to answer your question no.

I do the squares thing too, it’s more of a donation to a charity though for a relative. Obviously I’ve never won anything.

I put $100 on Buffalo and Dallas when the playoffs started to win the super bowl. We all know how that turned out.

I have 2 prop bets for the super bowl. I took heads on the coin flip and lemon lime as the color of the Gatorade to be dumped on the winning coach.

Normally I just watch the actual football game and skip the half time show. Commercials are when I get up to refill a beverage or use the mens room. I may actually tune into the halftime show this time around though. I used to listen to these guys years ago.

I’m interested in the winner. But I might be done watching it. Putting guys on the halftime show especially Snoop who has multiple songs about shooting cops…..
    No thank you.

I haven’t watched the regular season since my Grampa died in 95. This year I got sucked in with some midwest teams having dogs in the fight. And rooting for my favorite team {whoever Green Bay’s Playing.}. With some of the teams that don’t have a mitt full of Super Bowl rings in the fight. It almost seemed they had their mind on football. Rather than a political agenda about poor me, making millions playing a game I would play for free. Skipping things like the half time show and endzone celebration dances. I may make it to the end without shutting it off. Wouldn’t have probably watched this much. But I refused to pay another boatload of money more to watch the NHL this year. Just got done with a 2 year contract that dropped it 2 months into the season the first year. More High School and College sports for me.

I can’t think of a recent SB game I have cared for less. I don’t care about either team, and definitely don’t care about the location. The fact that it’s in LA only adds to the superficiality of it all.

I rolled a couple prop bets in.

    -Money McPherson…over 1.5 FGs made

    -Stafford…over 1.5 TD passes + Rams win

The Stafford one is looking rough as the Rams have some work to do to pull this off yet.

Regardless of the halftime show and the commercials, the football game has been pretty damn entertaining.

Prince was better but I thought this halftime show was good. Took me straight back to HS in the late 90’s.
